A town of sea, land and the Shinkansen: Hokuto City, Hokkaido.

 

Depending on the stations you stop at, the travel time from the Hokkaido Shinkansen is as follows:

 

From Tokyo: 3 hours 57 minutes to 4 hours 30 minutes

From Sendai: 2 hours 25 minutes to 3 hours 30 minutes

From Morioka: 1 hour 46 minutes to 2 hours 10 minutes

From Hachinohe: 1 hour 24 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes

～Nature～

You can enjoy the natural beauty of Hokkaido, such as the Tsugaru Straits that connect Hokkaido with Aomori Prefecture on the main island of Honshu, the poplar trees at the Trabbist Monastery, and the view from Kijihiki Plateau. In particular, watching the salmon swim upstream in the Moheji River is an experience that can only be seen in autumn.

Cycling in the pleasant sea breeze. A mini hike to the lush Lourdes Grotto. Harvesting Hokkaido vegetables, making a fire with a Swedish torch, making a long-tailed tit decoy, and much more.

 

 

～History and Culture～

The opening of the Hokkaido Shinkansen, the history of the Seikan Ferry, and the Dounan Isaribi Railway. The life of monks in a monastery. Experience Zen meditation at Kotokuji Temple, which also holds a mini-training program for children called "Shizen-juku."

 

 

～Interaction with local people～

The staff of the Hokuto City Tourism Association will guide you. Enjoy a local experience tasting popular local B-class gourmet food.

After adjusting the rental bike, harvest fresh vegetables at "Tomato Kingdom"
